Occasionally FDA will stop shippers and importers at the border from shipping products based on a positive test for a pathogen.
When this happens, FDA requires import detention testing of several loads (typically five from an independent laboratory to be removed from this detention and commence shipping into the United States).

PrimusLabs offers a wide range of microbiological services including Total Plate Count, Total Coliform, FC, E. Coli, Listeria, Salmonella, E. Coli-157:H7, and Yeast & Mold analysis for determination of environmental cleanliness.
PrimusLabs has trained samplers to meet all sampling needs: swabbing of facility equipment, environmental swabbing, pulling water and product samples. PrimusLabs can also set-up line flow and sampling rotations for our customers when a scheduled testing has been established.
PrimusLabs offers certified water testing for Total Coliform and E.coli to determine water quality –this includes drinking water. PrimusLabs also provides water sampling by trained samplers who can be dispatched to pull samples according to your needs. All samplers have been trained to follow LGMA guidelines for sampling, if needed.
PrimusLabs offers a comprehensive array of final product tests that include Total Plate Count, Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform, E. Coli, Yeast and Mold and others for product quality.
Additionally, analysis for specific pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli O157:H7, Staphylococcus, Enterohemmoragic E. coli, Shigella, and many others can be performed to ensure your produce safety.
