PrimusLabs’ Chemistry laboratory will soon be offering tests for various heavy metals. Testing for the most commonly occurring heavy metals: cadmium, lead, mercury, and arsenic is currently possible, and the lab will soon have the capabilities to test up to 17 different heavy metal compounds.

With the recent purchase of a new instrument, PrimusLabs will be capable of conducting Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) for trace amounts of the metals. Those heavy metals naturally occur in soil, and are most commonly found in various types of produce, including leafy greens, rice, and celery.
